Benefits of Playing Re-Tally-8
Educators use the
Re-Tally-8 Teacher's Resource to help kids learn math skills and social skills.
Teachers use
Re-Tally-8 to encourage mentoring, patience, and fairness as well as mathematics skills.
- Re-Tally-8 players practise thinking in numbers by creating their own equations, calculating the scores and checking the equations of other players. This helps to increase mental math speed and ability.
- Re-Tally-8 players learn to develop math strategy as they calculate the various bonus points possible with their number tiles.
- Re-Tally-8 players learn to work as a team as they challenge and assist each other.
- Teachers may change Re-Tally-8 rules to reinforce their arithmetic lesson plans. For example: decide that only multiplication functions could be allowed when teaching multiplication.
- Students can add or change rules as they develop their math skills, allowing Re-Tally-8 to become their mathematics game and sparking their math creativity.
- Re-Tally-8 can be used as a basis for math tournaments.
